SHRINE BENEFIT SF

This Sunday, November 20th!
9pm til 3am

At 1015 Folsom
1015 Folsom St
SF 94103

Please join us as we gather to support a beloved friend and esteemed artist, Shrine. We are honored to host the amazingly talented musicians, producers, and artists coming together to support a dear friend in a time of unexpected need.

For those who don't know, Shrine survived a very serious car accident and has been healing day by day. This gathering comes at a very important time in the process. We are presenting this evening of dance and art to share our community support with one of the most special artists and friends we have known. Every bit helps!

We thank the following music and art providers for their support and performance:

3l3v3n, Abai, Adsum, Aire Redtree, Bad Unkl Sista, Birdseye, Cumulus, DJ Shawna, Emo Fauxhawks (David Satori & Zoe Jakes of Beats Antique), Geno Cochino, Hopscotch, Karim So, Knowa Knowone, Mortar & Pestle, Neptune, Quade, Ra So, Rigzin, Vau de Vire Society

Additionally, we will be hosting an auction in our lower level. Please visit the downstairs early to view the phenomenal pieces collected, and make a bold offer on new art, and for Shrine! The auction will end at 1:30-please be prepared to purchase your items at the end of the night unless other arrangements are made.

All donations will be received the night of the benefit and will go directly to Shrine. Though no one will be turned away, we ask that you come offering a minimum of $15 at the door. If you are not able to make it to the event, visit http://weloveshrine.blogspot.com/ to contribute. Deep thanks for your support!

Please visit http://shrineon.com/ to look at the work and life of the artist himself. In his words,

Dear friend,
I don’t know you,
But I am a dreamer and vagabond too…
Traveling on electric highways
And the house you built of fragile stuff
Is the same as mine..

It may be never, it may be soon,
But I hope that some afternoon,
I’ll hear a step on the creaking stair
I’ll open the door and you’ll be there.

About us:
The Flaming Lotus Girls are a female-driven, San Francisco-based group of
artists who have been making kinetic, mechanical fire art since 2000. Our
work is composed of steel, stainless steel, copper, glass, wood, light, and
fire – and stands at the intersection of sculpture, kinetics, robotics,
pyrotechnics, and electronic technology. Our flames blaze in sizes ranging
from 2 inches to over 150 feet. We create interactive large-scale
installations that engage viewers and invite them to become part of the art.
